PhD in law with honors from the Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas (IIJ) of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Master in evidentiary reasoning with honors from the Universities of Girona and Genova. Certificate in transnational legal studies from the Center for Transnational Legal Studies (CTLS), London. Full-time professor-researcher at the Law School of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMex). Visiting professor at the University of Girona (UdG). Full professor of philosophy of law at the Faculty of Law of the UNAM. Member of the National System of Researchers (SNI), level I, of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) of Mexico. His main lines of research are legal epistemology, evidential reasoning, and theory and philosophy of law. His publications include the books Inteligencia artificial aplicada al derecho (UNAM, 2007) and Jusnaturalismo procedimental, debido proceso penal y epistemología jurídica (Tirant Lo Blanch, 2017) and the introduction in Larry Laudan's book El estándar de prueba y las garantías en el proceso penal (Hammurabi, 2012). Co-translator, together with Professor Carmen Vázquez, of the Laudan's book Truth, Error, and the Criminal Law: An Essay in Legal Epistemology (Cambridge, 2006).
